Wet & Windy Wedding on the Isle of Colonsay \\ Grace & Keir
In February last year I set off from Newcastle for the long trip over to the Isle of Colonsay. I was quite excited as I had never been over before and they say it’s where we MacPhee’s originated from!
The weather was horrible. The dramatic landscapes where even more dramatic than usual!! But the show must go on…. Grace & Keir had a lovely humanist ceremony in the Isle of Colonsay Hotel and then after a brief trip to the beach in gale force winds for some portraits we went off to the Village Hall for the rest of the evening. Absolutely amazing wedding! Grace & Keir were fantastic hosts and I felt very welcome amongst their friends and family, especially the band Canach who made sure I was at the pub when I needed to be for the all important pints! This was especially helpful when the ferries got cancelled and we were stuck on the island!! This meant an extra day of celebration and a bit more time to argue over whether or not the dress was blue and black or white and gold before the world got hold of it!! We eventually got off the island on a 9 seater yellow plane that I will never forget… absolutely amazing views of Colonsay and a great way to say goodbye to the island. I eventually made it home late in the evening to find out that Caitlin McNeill had broke the internet with #thedress and the rest is history.
An unforgettable weekend on the Isle of Colonsay was had by all I’m sure! Thanks to Grace and Keir for being so awesome to work with, and here’s to a long and happy life together for you both! 🙂
