Joyful, Natural and Storytelling Wedding Photography

Hello! So you want to know a bit more about my wedding photography.. well you have come to the right place! My style is laid back, artistic documentary wedding photography. Most of the time you wont even notice I’m there as I capture the story as it unfolds from the side-lines and only get involved if I see a particular shot I want to make better. I choose my moments wisely and I take charge when it comes to doing family group photos and the all important couple portraits.

Relax and enjoy your day

My persona is definitely laid back and fun but of course, always professional! My clients always tell me how at ease they feel with me on their wedding day and that they feel they can relax around me and enjoy their day to the fullest knowing that I will be doing the best job I can for them. Making meaningful connections with my clients and being trusted to capture the special moments in their life is something I feel so honoured to do.

Uncomfortable in front of the camera?

Who isn’t! haha, but seriously yes there are some super confident people in the world that are at home in front of a camera, but the majority of people in my experience don’t like it very much as its not something that they do everyday. I’m great at making you feel comfortable while I have a camera in hand. My laid back approach will keep you at ease while we take a stroll for portraits and chat about life and I’ll most likely get you laughing as I nearly fall in a bog or tell you stories of times I’ve nearly fallen in bogs!! I’ve been told I can be a very calming presence on a wedding day and made couple portraits really easy when they were initially dreading them! So please rest assured that we will absolutely nail your wedding portraits no matter what!

Pre-wedding Shoot

If you are booking a full day wedding package with me there is an optional pre-wedding shoot included so this can be really useful if you are feeling extra nervous, though it definitely isn’t necessary. You can also add these on to you half day package too. I absolutely love doing these as part of my full day package as it gives me the opportunity to get to know you both a bit better and while some couples choose to do these in the location they want their wedding portraits, I always recommend having a think about doing them somewhere special to you both that you might not be able to get to on the wedding day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you based?
I’m based on the Isle of Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides. The majority of my weddings are on Benbecula, North Uist, South Uist, the Isle of Harris and the Isle of Lewis but I do also travel further afield for weddings most recently the Isle of Skye, the Isle of Mull and a couple of times to the Isle of Colonsay. I’m always happy to do island weddings! I can also be found photographing weddings in Argyll and around Glasgow and down as far as Newcastle Upon Tyne.

How do we book you?
The first thing to do is get in touch! Send me an email with your wedding date and location and any other information or questions you might have and if I’m available I will send you over pricing and a copy of my wedding photography contract to look over. When you are ready to go ahead with the booking I will send you over an online signable version of the wedding photo contract and will take a booking fee of £300 to secure the date (this will be deducted from the final balance) and then we are good to go!

Do you have insurance?
Of course! I have my equipment insured and also public liability insurance.

How long do you stay on a wedding day?
Well that depends on the package you book. If its a full day package then this can generally be 10-12 hours I’m with you. I arrive a couple of hours before the ceremony to get some getting ready shots and I don’t leave until around an hour after your first dance. I always check before I leave if there is anything else you would like me to get before I go. I generally don’t take photographs during your meal as I use this time to back up your images and also eat!
For a half day package I’m with you for up to 5 hours. This is continuous coverage and I always suggest if you book this package to have your speeches before the meal if you want these captured as I would normally finish before you eat.

How many photos do we get and how long does it take to get them?
Again, package depending its normally 500+ for a full day package and 250+ for a half day package.

I normally have your photos edited and available for download from your online gallery within 6-8 weeks of the wedding. In peak summer months this can be around the 8 week mark depending on my workload. If you book the full day package I aim to get your USB sent to you within 12 weeks of the wedding. I always try my best to get them to you as soon as possible.
